Leading a life-affirming ministry can be an exciting endeavor, impacting many lives both now and in eternity. Most step into this leadership role with little more than a calling from the Lord, a heart to serve, and a willingness to go where He leads. Even extensive experience in an unrelated field can provide little in understanding the special needs and nuances of leading a non-profit life-affirming ministry.
The New Director Oasis is designed specifically for new directors with less than three years' experience in directing a life-affirming pregnancy center, medical clinic, maternity home, or nonprofit adoption agency. The Oasis provides a relaxed schedule and intimate setting for a very special time of learning, including presentations, panels of experts, questions and answers, and open discussions.
The New Directors Oasis training qualifies toward the Life Affirming Specialist (LAS) designation.
Each year Heartbeat assembles seasoned ministry mentors to serve as presenters and consultants during this targeted time of learning. Drawing from years of wisdom and experience available can help any new director successfully navigate through the early years of ministry, avoid pitfalls, and gain insight to increase effectiveness as a leader in a ministry. This training can be used as a pre-requisite for Heartbeat's Institute for Center Effectiveness held this November.
