The very title makes people uncomfortable. Yet, when people hear the message, they are excited and relieved. The message is about truth, lies, honesty, and what to do with it all. Have you ever wondered when you would "arrive" spiritually, only to feel like all you do is fall short? Have you ever compared yourself to other women and found yourself wanting? Have you struggled with unforgiveness and bitterness born from a deep hurt; trying to forgive but dealing with the same feelings over and over? Stop giving God only your best in an effort to impress Him, and start giving Him what he wants - your worst. Diving into a more honest and full relationship with God in this way makes finding peace with oneself and others much easier.

This webinar, based on the most modern neuroscience, will explain how sex is described as a whole body or whole person experience. Beginning with the brain as the biggest and most important sex organ of the body, the hormones in the brain act on the brain cells to influence our emotions and habits thus our patterns of thinking and living. Our popular culture has led us to believe that it was okay to have sex at any age with whom we want as long as we “protect” ourselves from disease and pregnancy with condoms and contraception. Nevertheless, we were designed by God so that we can be protected by being connected to one person for a lifetime in marriage. That is what we ought to be teaching and challenging our children to be thinking about and living their lives for protecting their brains and yes their bodies from experimenting sexually and therefore avoiding sexual risk.
Objectives:
1. Describe adolescent brain development and maturation especially the role of the prefrontal cortex in decision making.
2. Explain the neurohormones and how they act on the brain cells affecting our emotions and actions including sexual activity.
3. Describe healthy and unhealthy relationships and how influenced by neuroscience
4. Explain rationale for recommending Sexual Risk Avoidance Education [aka Abstinence]
a. Physiologic
b. Physical
c. Biblical

Client sexual education and encouragement to live a healthier lifestyle can be key components of the overall work of pregnancy help centers. Having a staff that is sufficiently educated on scientific sex ed that they can effectively convey messages that promote biblical truth and scientifically proven health can help “make abortion unwanted today and unthinkable for future generations.” This course is designed for centers with a high number of clients in the 18-24 age group. These women, especially if they are on a college campus, have been indoctrinated through gender ideology to believe that it is natural for them to be promiscuous. Nothing could be further from the truth and this course is designed to give staff the scientific-based knowledge that will allow them to teach these women the truth that for humans, sexual wellness equals sexual integrity.
Posing as a fake client has become a common tactic of pro-choice groups and journalists who seek to denigrate the reputation of pregnancy help centers. Do you know how to identify a fake client? How would you handle a fake client if you had one?
In this webinar, Heartbeat International's Director of Option Line, Nafisa Kennedy, will discuss ways to recognize potentially fake clients as well as what you can do to guard your center from these attacks.

3. Specific applications for meetings, emails, presentations, and banquets.

A long debated association between preterm birth and previous induced abortion is now supported by a growing body of credible world-wide evidence. The increased risk of preterm birth and other adverse subsequent pregnancy outcomes following induced abortion is both clinically relevant and important from a public health perspective. Health care professionals should be informed of the potential risks of induced abortion on subsequent birth outcomes, and women considering abortion should be given this information as part of the process of obtaining informed consent.
By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to describe public health concerns associated with preterm birth and evaluate the relevance, for both clinical practice and informed consent, of current research showing increased risks of subsequent preterm birth following induced abortion.

Have you been thinking about adding STI testing to your list of services? STIs can have serious health consequences. People with STIs do not always experience disease symptoms, but, if left untreated, STIs can cause chronic pelvic pain, pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility, and/or severe pregnancy and newborn complications. By adding STI services in our communities, we will reach individuals that we may not have reached before. We will increase the opportunities to develop relationships, provide holistic client care and education, and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community. These relationships generate clients who are likely to return to us when they experience crisis. Join me as we discover what is needed to launch STI services in your center.

Workplace accommodations for pregnancy have long been a challenging area of compliance, and clients may be taking this into account as they make a decision regarding their pregnancy. The Americans with Disability Act does not consider pregnancy a covered disability, and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act does not require accommodation beyond those offered to similarly situated employees. That gap prompted Congress to pass the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act in June cementing the right to workplace accommodations for pregnant workers. And beyond pregnancy, there are a plethora of conditions that may give rise to a request for a workplace accommodation.

Up until recently, we have focused greatly on the technical aspect of the ultrasound scan in the pregnancy center, leaving perhaps the most impactful images until the very end of the exam. The LOVE Approach Method to Scanning Limited Obstetrical Diagnostic Medical Ultrasounds brings the most important aspect of the exam to the forefront. Within the first few minutes, this method shows the mother her baby’s heartbeat bringing the focus to the life within. This webinar will focus on placing emphasis on the wholeness of the scan to include not only the technical aspect but also the spiritual aspect.
